Life of Fred; Apples, Chapter 5

• Temperature:
• Set your thermometer to 15 degrees below zero. 

• Set your thermometer to the temperature it is outside today at your house.

• Set your thermometer to the temperature it is inside today at your house.

• Calculate the differences between them.

• Telling Time
• Set your clock to 8:00am.

• Set your clock to the time your normally start your school day.

• Calculate the elapsed time.

• Draw stairs to illustrate 1st, 2nd,3rd......10th in number and word form.

• Watch these videos about shapes.
• Watch this Days of the Week Song.
• Practice writing the days of the week with the Days of the Week Handwriting Pages.
• Watch this Months of the Year Song.
• Watch this 4 Seasons of the Year Song.
• Download and Print Noah's Ark Homeschool Academy's Hot Chocolate and Marshmallow Equations Work Mat and Work Pages. (These pages cover the parts of seven and algebra to practice the same skills in the Chapter 5 Life of Fred Lesson)
• If you don't have mini-marshmallows then you can substitute with cotton balls.

• If you have older children that are ready for place values use Campfire Marshmallows, the regular size Marshmallows, and Mini Marshmallows.  Have you children solve place value equations using marshmallows instead of base ten blocks.

• For snack: of course, you need to make s'mores.
• 12 Graham crackers broke in half
• 6 Hershey Chocolate Bars (we used special dark, but you can use milk chocolate)
• 6 Campfire Marshmallows cut in half with scissors
• Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
• Cook for 10-15 minutes
• Let cool and enjoy!

 

 

• Craft a 3 story shape house and label it.
